Marvin took extra time off work to attend a Priest High Adventure, so when that moved to another weekend, we used the time to visit my parent's new cabin in Bear Lake! We loaded the bikes, hoping to catch a few rides in the unchartered territory. First we hiked Limber Pine and saw an amazing aray of wildflowers, plus a marmot carrying a mouse and chipmunks. Then the kids were bribed to bike a rocky trail in the sinks... mostly so we could justify lugging those things across the State... haha, it was pretty rocky and all the kids biffed it at some point. Minnetonka Caves turned out to be a highlight and later that day played at North Beach in the shallow, beautiful water and sand. Friday night we coaxed my parents away from fixing the cabin to enjoy famous raspberry shakes in town. Saturday we hiked some more, Marvin biked, and we helped around the cabin before driving back to Logan Saturday evening. I even squeezed in a run on my favorite trail! Sunday we visited and sang to Great Grandpa Grant for his 91st Birthday a day later. On the drive back to Boise, we viewed the Malad Gorge and picnicked nearby. Dallin wanted to throw rocks over the bridge, which spans the gorge, and is a scary drop!
