Earthquake in Japan

Our thoughts have turned to events in Japan with the recent magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami, and continuing after-shocks. Thankfully, Marvin's Grandma Oto is okay (she lives in Yokohama, outside Tokyo) and no damage to the facility where she stays. We don't know about the family house, though, as no one is there to check on it. Grandpa changed plans at the last minute, otherwise he would have been in Japan at this time. However, another family member happened to be in Japan, traveling on the subway to the airport, when the earthquake hit. Uncle Rich was fine, but stuck for three hours in the subway, then was able to finally get back to the States a day later. He said there were earthquakes every 15 minutes through the night and still many after-shocks. I wish it wasn't things like this that spark me to better be prepared in all things. Meanwhile, in the garden of Eden Eagle, Idaho, a spectacular reminder that it's not over just yet.
