This year I started an "International Culture Group" at Galileo. I kept it small by meeting monthly and limiting the club to grades 3-5, and from the beginning planned with the PTA to hold an event for the whole school. This event came to fruition last week after months and months of planning. I was excited by the reception and participation, which the Principle remarked was fantastic considering a first-time event. Along with the Earth Balloon rented by the school, there were country booths hosted by families, entertainers, and an International food buffet. We even received a front page article in our local paper! About 200 people came, and I think all enjoyed a great time.
