Sage and Maddie take violin lessons from a cute & talented 11 year old - Katie. They've learned so much the past three months. But the girls must be careful to keep their violins away from the playful boys. So one time Dallin improvised and practiced a little train-track violin!
Mrs. Efaw, Maddie's 3rd grade teacher, present the awards with Mrs. McCullough (the principle, in blue) nearby.
Wow, I cannot believe June is done! Highlights:
o School ended on the 8th for the girls (Ike finished in May)
o Weather felt like early spring with sporadic warm days and mostly rain/cold
o Neighborhood pool opened!! We swam even in the chill
o April and Marvin take a first-ever adults vacation to St. Thomas! (more to come on that one)
o Dallin matured by leaps this month. He copies everything his siblings say and do; wears a backpack constantly; loves teasing; eats better -not as messy. Looks more and more like a toddler; throws a few tantrums; understands sharing better and taking turns (so helpful!); likes to wear other's shoes around.
o Ike coming far along with reading lessons; reads words/signs around town; asks lots of intelligent questions and mostly remembers the answers; started gymnastics class and enjoys it;
o Sage is a good helper this month; sad to finish dance lessons; increased concern for what's "fair;" loves to play with Dallin & sing to Dallin; at Kindergarten celebration, teacher gave all kids certificates and Sage's was for "Creative Writing" - Sage created several cute books.
o Maddie earned an award at the last school assembly for "Perseverance." Four other kids in her class earned this award - one of whose Dad passed away last month and another suffers from severe physical disabilities - so we are proud of the hard work she did this past school year. She's back into gymnastics and loves it.
o Ike and Dallin enjoy watching the garbage truck, running to the front window to get the best peak. This month they started giving the garbage truck commands like "Come over here, garbage truck" or "Come back, garbage truck," naturally yelling as loud as possible. When this happens, I usually walk by to make sure the window is closed... and each time it is closed. That's what I assumed. It turns out they opened the window ALL the way, which also looks like it's closed. So they've been yelling out the window at the top of their lungs at 7- 8 AM for about a month! I'm surprised the neighbors haven't complained.
