Aug 14-15th - Ward Campout on a ranch near Donnelly, Idaho. So FUN! We arrived late Friday night so we hurried to cook the foil dinners and set up the taj mahal tent before dark. Enjoyed a nice campfire and fireside with the ward and lots of treats after! Isaac and Peyton Bailey walked off in the dark without telling anyone (right after both moms told them not to go off by themselves) . . . but they were found at Peyton's tent a little ways away. We finally settled down at midnight. Our fellow campers and we discovered that Ike grinds his teeth and talks in his sleep ALL night! Chilly weather was forecasted so Marvin borrowed a propane heater which helped keep us warm - we awoke to frost in August; though it burned off easily as the morning sun warmed us for the yummy breakfast and games. Bishop taught the kids how to build a fire, we played tug-of-war, Sage, Ike, and Dallin got to drive (sat in the driver's seat with dad) the mile+ to the porta-potty, and the kids waded in the river and played in the sand. On the way home we stopped at Smith's Ferry for some shakes. Hopefully it will become a tradition!
