Per request, the kids dressed as~Sage & Maddie: cowgirls
Isaac: Jedi
Dallin: frog (okay, he didn't request it)
The only items we purchased for this year's costumes were the girl's pink hats. . . the rest we borrowed or in the case of the frog we had already. Ike was a frog a couple years ago when the girls were princesses. The girls totally posed themselves in these pictures - what hams! And Ike tried opening his eyes for the pictures but he said it was too bright. I could barely get a picture of Dallin - he's wiley.
We love our neighborhood! Drenda and I organized a little gathering for a few neighbors - mostly the ones along our lane - for games, halloween- house making, and pot-lucking before going out together trick - or - treating the neighborhood. We had a crowd of 15 kids excitedly gathering candy with about 5 or so parents trying to reign them in and keep track of them! After about an hour our family drove to another neighborhood spook alley that was supposed to be kid-friendly but we thought pretty scary!! Dallin refused to dress up for the first 3 hours of the festivities, but Marvin finally coaxed the costume on just in time for trick or treating. He wanted to be held the entire time, except for at the doorstep he'd get down to stick his little bag out for some candy, say "tank you," turn around say "up, peas" and we'd hold him again. I wonder when he'll outgrow the clingy-ness? I hope he never outgrows his politeness. :)
